Lake Goczałkowice (Goczałkowice Reservoir)

Lake Goczałkowice is a dam reservoir on the Vistula, created by damming the river at Goczałkowice-Zdrój (the reservoir has been operating since 1956). It is one of the main sources of drinking water for the Silesian conurbation.

Location and surroundings

The reservoir lies in the Silesian Voivodeship, in Pszczyna County, about 5 km south of Pszczyna. Its maximum area is about 32 km² (3,200 ha), the dam is about 2,980 m long, and its capacity is around 168 million m³.
