Lake Żywiec (Tresna Reservoir)

Lake Żywiec is a retention reservoir on the Soła River near Żywiec, created after the construction of an earth dam at Tresna (the reservoir was formed in 1966). It lies on the boundary of the Żywiec Basin and the Little Beskids.

Location and surroundings

The reservoir lies in the Silesian Voivodeship, in Żywiec County. Its area is about 10 km², maximum depth around 26.8 m, and total capacity about 94.6 million m³. The earth dam is 310 m long and 39 m high.
