Lake Pilchowice

Lake Pilchowice is a dam reservoir on the Bóbr River, created after the construction of a stone dam at Pilchowice (in operation since 1912). The dam is one of the oldest and largest of its kind in Poland.

Location and surroundings

The reservoir lies in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in the Wleń commune, Lwówek County. Its area is about 240 ha (2.4 km²), and the stone dam is 62 m high and around 290 m long along the crest. Its capacity is about 50 million m³.
