Vistula Lagoon

The Vistula Lagoon is a coastal body of water separated from the Baltic Sea by the Vistula Spit, lying partly in Poland (Warmian-Masurian and Pomeranian voivodeships) and partly in the Kaliningrad Oblast. It connects to the sea through the Strait of Baltiysk and the canal cut through the Vistula Spit.

Location and surroundings

The total area is about 838 km², of which the Polish part accounts for around 328 km². The average depth is about 2.7 m. The lagoon is fed by, among others, the Vistula (Nogat) and other rivers.
