Lake Żarnowieckie

Lake Żarnowieckie is a glacial ribbon lake in Pomerania, known among other things for the largest pumped-storage power plant in Poland, operating since 1982.

Location and surroundings

The lake lies in the Pomeranian Voivodeship, in the Gniewino commune, Wejherowo County. Its area is about 14.31 km² (1431 ha), maximum length 7.6 km, width up to 2.6 km, depth up to about 19.4 m. The lake bed lies below sea level.
