Lake Klimkowskie (Klimkówka Reservoir)

Lake Klimkowskie, called Klimkówka, is a dam reservoir created in 1994 on the Ropa river, dammed by a dam 37 m high and 210 m long. It lies in the wildest part of Lesser Poland - in the Beskid Niski, near the villages of Klimkówka, Łosie and Uście Gorlickie.

Parameters

Its area is about 306 ha, its length 6.5 km, its maximum depth up to 31 m (average 13 m), and its capacity 42.59 million m³.

Functions and tourism

The reservoir serves flood-control, tourism and recreation functions and supplies water to Gorlice and Jasło. On the northern shore there is a holiday resort with a water-equipment rental; motorboat traffic is prohibited. The body of water was a filming location for the film "With Fire and Sword".
