Lake Dobromierskie (Dobromierz Reservoir)

Lake Dobromierskie, also called the Dobromierz Reservoir, is an artificial dam lake on the Strzegomka river, located in the Książ Landscape Park. Construction was completed in 1986. The reservoir's capacity is about 11.35 million m³, and on its eastern side a dam 28 m high with a reinforced-concrete face was built.

Functions

The reservoir is a source of drinking water for nearby towns and serves a flood-control function. It is managed by the RZGW in Wrocław.

Nature

The lake has become a refuge for many rare species of water birds; the shores are overgrown with rich aquatic and riparian vegetation. In terms of scenery, it is sometimes compared to a smaller Solina in Lower Silesia.
