Domaniów Reservoir (Lake Domaniowskie)

The Domaniów Reservoir is an artificial body of water in the valley of the Radomka River, in the Wieniawa municipality, also called the Domaniów Sea. It was created between 1996 and 2000 by damming the water with a concrete-and-earth dam. At maximum impoundment the reservoir holds about 11.5 million m3 of water over an area of up to about 5 km2 and a length of 5 km.

Functions

The purpose of construction was to supply agriculture with water, regulate the flow of the Radomka and provide flood protection. It is one of the most important dammed reservoirs in Mazovia, alongside the Zegrze and Włocławek reservoirs.

Tourism

The reservoir attracts kayakers, sailors, anglers and lovers of windsurfing and wakeboarding. Numerous cycling trails have been marked out around the reservoir.
