Character of the trail

The Liwiec is a shallow river with a sandy bed, slow-flowing and strongly meandering among flowery meadows and gentle moraine hills. Popular one-day sections include Oszczerze-Liw and Wyszków (village)-Liw.

In the vicinity

By the river lies Liw with its castle, and the extension of the route is Węgrów with monuments from the 16th century. On the river there are weirs and water steps as well as a hydroelectric plant in Kalinowiec.
