Besko Reservoir (Sieniawa Lake)

The Besko Reservoir is a dam reservoir on the Wisłok river in the village of Sieniawa. It bears the name Besko after its originally planned location. The artificial Sieniawa Lake has a surface area of about 130 ha. The dam is 174 m long and up to 38 m high, and the reservoir's maximum depth is 30 m.

Functions

The reservoir was put into service in 1978. It supplies water to Rymanów, Iwonicz and Krosno, regulates the flow of the Wisłok, provides flood protection and generates energy.

Tourism

The Besko Dam in Sieniawa is a sightseeing attraction, accessible among others along the cycling routes of the Low Beskids.
