Pławniowice Lake (Pławniowice Reservoir)

Pławniowice Lake is an artificial reservoir in the Rudziniec municipality, with a surface area of about 250 ha and a maximum depth of 18 m. It was created in 1970 by flooding a former sand pit. It is fed by the Toszek Stream, and its waters flow out into the Kłodnica and the Gliwice Canal.

Tourism

Together with the neighbouring Dzierżno Duże and Dzierżno Małe reservoirs, it quickly became a favourite recreation spot for Upper Silesians. Sailing, windsurfing, canoeing and swimming are popular here, and equipment rentals are available in season. A cycling path with a beach runs around the reservoir.
