Kuźnica Warężyńska Reservoir (Pogoria IV)

The Kuźnica Warężyńska Reservoir is a post-mining reservoir in the Czarna Przemsza catchment, created in 2005 on the site of a closed sand mine. It was officially opened on 25 August 2005. At maximum damming the surface area is 560 ha, the length about 5 km and the maximum depth 23 m. Its capacity is 51.2 million m3.

Name

Informally called Pogoria IV, although it lies outside the Pogoria catchment. It is located in Dąbrowa Górnicza, partly in Wojkowice Kościelne.

Functions

The reservoir serves mainly a flood-control function and is also part of the Dąbrowa Lake District - a complex of recreational reservoirs of the Zagłębie region.
