Szwedzka Góra

Szwedzka Góra (Swedish Mountain) is an inland parabolic dune in the Bydgoszcz Forest, the highest elevation of this forest at about 110.6-116 m above sea level (about 85 m of relative height above the Vistula valley).

Location and surroundings

The dune is located north of the village of Chrośna, in the Bydgoszcz Forest, within the Protected Landscape Area of the Dunes of the Toruń-Bydgoszcz Basin.

Natural value

It is an extensive parabolic dune; on the summit there is a stone with a height benchmark and traces of former fortifications. Hiking trails (yellow and blue) run across the elevation.

Practical notes

Accessible on foot - due to the steep slopes, access is only via the trails. The name is linked to a local tradition about the Swedish troops from the period of the Deluge.
