Lucynów-Mostówka Dunes

The Lucynów-Mostówka Dunes are an area of highly varied relief, encompassing a complex of dunes covered with sandy grasslands, heaths and Scots pine forest communities. The area covers about 435.2 ha, at an elevation of 89-111 m above sea level. The site was included in the Natura 2000 network in 2008.

Location and surroundings

The site lies in the area of the villages of Lucynów and Mostówka, near Wyszków (Mazovian Voivodeship).

Natural values

A total of 348 plant species have been recorded here, including 11 strictly protected ones, along with a rich lichen flora (83 species). It is a picturesque combination of dune and heathland landscape.

The most spectacular period is the turn of August and September, when the heather blooms.
