Arboretum Karnieszewice

The Botanical Garden 'Arboretum Karnieszewice' is located about 15 km northeast of Koszalin, in the Kamionka forestry unit (Karnieszewice Forest District). The history of the place dates back to around 1881 (a stone inscribed 'Pom. Forst. Verein 1881'), and the botanical garden was formally established in 2016.

Collections

The arboretum is famous for its magnificent Douglas firs (Pseudotsuga menziesii) reaching up to 48 m in height - about 300 m from the garden grows the thickest Douglas fir in Poland (circumference 490 cm). The total area is 19.04 ha, with the part open to visitors and holding collections covering about 4.80 ha.
