Gdańsk Zoological Garden

The largest zoological garden in Poland in terms of area - it covers about 125 hectares. Founded in 1954, it is a member of the European EAZA association and participates in more than 50 European breeding programmes for endangered species.

Location and surroundings

The zoo is located at 3 Karwieńska Street in Gdańsk's Oliwa district, in a valley surrounded by the forests of the Tri-City Landscape Park.

The garden presents 164 animal species (868 individuals) from various continents. It offers educational programmes, feeding shows and an area for the youngest.
