A European bison breeding centre located in the Niepołomice Forest, administered by the Niepołomice Forest District (State Forests). In 1955 the Rare Animals Breeding Centre was established here.
Between 1976 and 1978, European bison of the Białowieża line were brought in from Białowieża and Pszczyna - they were the first animals of this line in the Niepołomice herd, where the Białowieża-Caucasian line had previously been kept. Since 1998 the centre has been managed by the Niepołomice Forest District.
