Orla Perć

Orla Perć is the most difficult and most demanding marked hiking trail in the Polish High Tatras, running along the ridge from the Zawrat Pass to the Krzyżne Pass. It is about 4.3 km long, but due to its technical difficulty, the crossing usually takes a whole day.

Location and surroundings

The trail runs along the main peaks and passes of the High Tatras, including Kozi Wierch (the highest peak lying entirely within Poland), Skrajny Granat and Zamarła Turnia. The route lies within the Tatra National Park.

What to see

The route abounds in exposed places secured with chains, brackets and ladders (including the famous ladder on Zamarła Turnia). It offers sweeping panoramas of the High Tatras.

Who it is for

The trail is intended exclusively for experienced mountain hikers with good fitness and resistance to exposure. On the most difficult section from Zawrat to Kozi Wierch, one-way traffic is in force.
