Wrocław Zoo

The Zoological Garden in Wrocław is the oldest zoo in Poland, opened on 10 July 1865. It is one of the city's most popular tourist attractions and belongs to the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA).

Location and surroundings

The zoo is located on Wróblewskiego Street, on the left bank of the Oder, next to the Centennial Hall. It covers an area of about 33 hectares.

Offer/Attractions

According to data from December 2017, the garden kept about 14,000 animals representing 1,132 species. Its best-known part is the Afrykarium - an oceanarium dedicated to the aquatic fauna of Africa.

The facility is intended for families with children, tourists and nature lovers.

On the grounds there are numerous themed pavilions, including the Afrykarium, the Odrarium, the Madagascar Pavilion, a seal house and a terrarium.
