Zoological Garden in Opole

The Zoological Garden in Opole is located on Bolko Island. Its traditions date back to 1912, and after the Second World War the garden was reactivated in 1953. It is a member of EAZA and one of the most modern gardens in Poland - most of its buildings were erected in the 21st century after the millennium flood of 1997.

Location and surroundings

The garden covers an area of 30.31 hectares on Bolko Island, on Spacerowa Street.

Offer/Attractions

It keeps over 1,000 animals representing 227 species. It is the only garden in Poland with California sea lions; gorillas, jaguars, giraffes and lemurs are also present.
