Trails in the Sokole Góry Reserve

The Sokole Góry Reserve, located about 12 km from the centre of Częstochowa near Olsztyn, is one of the largest reserves in the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland (established in 1953, area 216 ha). It protects a group of Jurassic hills with numerous caves.

Location and surroundings

The Trail of the Eagles' Nests and several other routes run through the reserve. Nearby are the castle ruins in Olsztyn and the Biakło hill.

What to see

Limestone outcrops and several dozen caves, including the Maurycego, Koralowa, Studnisko, Olsztyńska and Wszystkich Świętych caves. Crossing the reserve along the green nature trail and the yellow trail is a walk of about half a day.

Routes of varying difficulty – from gentle forest paths to demanding trails among the rocks.
