Trails to Ślęża from Sobótka

Ślęża (718 m above sea level) is the highest peak of the Ślęża Massif, located about 30 km southwest of Wrocław. At the foot of the mountain lies Sobótka – the main tourist centre of the region. Several marked trails lead to the summit.

Location and surroundings

Since 1988 the Ślęża Massif has been a landscape park covering an area of 15,640 ha. The most popular routes from Sobótka are the red trail ("Droga Ślężan", about 5.2 km), the yellow trail (via Wieżyca, about 5.4 km) and the blue trail (about 4.1 km).

What to see

Along the routes are, among others, the stone observation tower on Wieżyca (415 m, from 1907) and the rock formations known as the Olbrzymki (Giantesses) on the blue trail. Ślęża is famous for its prehistoric cult sculptures.

Routes of moderate difficulty, popular among the residents of Wrocław and the surrounding area.
