Orthodox Church of St. Anthony of the Caves and St. Paraskeva in Hola

A wooden church (formerly Uniate, now an Orthodox branch church) in Hola, in the Lublin Polesie region, on the Polesie Church Route.

Location and surroundings

Hola lies in the Stary Brus commune, in the Włodawa county. The church complex is located in the middle of the village, on the northern side of the main road, next to a private open-air museum.

History

The present church dates from 1700-1702 - the previous church burned down in 1700 during the Swedish invasion, and a new one was built in 1702. In subsequent years it was thoroughly rebuilt (among others in 1800-1803, 1846, 1878-1879). In 1941 a fire destroyed the roof and ceilings; the last renovation was carried out in 2011.
