Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Holy Mountain, the Mystic Rose, in Gostyń

A Baroque monastic complex of the Oratorians on the Holy Mountain, regarded as Poland's only example of an import of pure Italian Baroque, recognised as a Monument of History.

Location and surroundings

The monastery is located on the hill of the Holy Mountain in the settlement of Głogówko, about 2 km east of the centre of Gostyń.

History

The monastic complex on the Holy Mountain was built in the 17th-18th centuries; the basilica is modelled on the Venetian church of Santa Maria della Salute. Since 2008 the complex has been a Monument of History.
