The most important Marian sanctuary in Warmia, the site of the only Marian apparitions in Poland officially recognised by the Church.
Located in Gietrzwałd, about 17 km west of Olsztyn, in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship.
In 1877 apparitions of Our Lady took place in Gietrzwałd, recognised by the Church. The sanctuary with its basilica is the main pilgrimage centre of the region.
