Sanctuary of St Anne in Olesno

A wooden indulgence church dedicated to St Anne - one of the most valuable monuments of wooden sacred architecture, called "the rose of Olesno enchanted in wood". The Gothic part was erected in 1518, and in 1669-1670 the carpenter Marcin Snopka added five chapels arranged in the shape of a five-petalled rose.

Veneration

On 6 May 1968 the sanctuary was granted the privilege of indulgence. It is one of the most important pilgrimage churches of the Opole diocese, visited also by pilgrims from Silesia, Germany and the Czech Republic. Listed as a Monument of History.
