Location and surroundings

The wooden church stands in Dębno Podhalańskie in the Podhale region, in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship. It is part of the Wooden Churches of Southern Lesser Poland complex, inscribed on the UNESCO List.

History

It is one of the oldest surviving wooden churches in Poland, dated to the end of the 15th century and built using log construction. In 2003, together with the churches in Binarowa, Blizne, Haczów, Lipnica Murowana and Sękowa, it was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

What to see

A unique stencilled polychrome dating from around 1500, regarded as one of the oldest in Europe to survive in its entirety on wood.
