Poland's oldest cathedral is located on Ostrów Tumski in Poznań, on an island in the Warta River, in the oldest part of the city.

History

The cathedral is one of the oldest churches in Poland, with roots going back to the 10th century. The present Gothic church has been rebuilt many times. It is regarded as a place associated with the beginnings of Polish statehood.

The Golden Chapel with the tomb of Poland's first rulers, and the crypts with relics of earlier buildings and burials.
