St. Mary's Church in Toruń

The church stands in the north-western corner of the Old Town Market Square in Toruń, within the old town complex inscribed on the UNESCO List.

History

The Gothic church was built in the second half of the 14th century by the Franciscans. It is one of the three largest Gothic municipal churches in northern Poland, alongside St. Mary's Church in Gdańsk and St. John's Cathedral in Toruń.

What to see

Gothic frescoes from the 14th century, Baroque and Rococo altars, a Renaissance organ, Gothic choir stalls from the 15th century and the Baroque mausoleum of Anna Vasa.
