Collegiate Church of St. Martin of Tours in Opatów

One of the most valuable monuments of Romanesque architecture in Poland, built around 1150. An oriented basilica constructed of sandstone ashlars on a Latin cross plan, with Late Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque transformations.

History and status

  • Construction: c. 1150, canons attested 1206-1212
  • Rebuilt after the fire of 1502 (Tatar raid)
  • Monument of History: 2 February 2023
