Archcollegiate Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Alexius in Tum

One of the most outstanding examples of Romanesque architecture in Poland, erected between 1136 and 1161, probably with the participation of the workshop that worked on Wawel Cathedral. A three-nave basilica with galleries, six bays and a short chancel closed by an apse.

History

  • 1241 - defended against the Tatar invasion; 1294 - burned during the Lithuanian invasion
