Basilica of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Bartholomew in Piekary Śląskie

The main Marian sanctuary of Upper Silesia, with the miraculous image of Our Lady of Piekary. A Neo-Romanesque church consecrated on 22 August 1849, erected on the initiative of Fr. Jan Ficek in place of a former wooden church. The title of minor basilica was granted on 1 December 1962 by John XXIII.
