Jarosławiec Lighthouse

A red, cylindrical brick lighthouse in the village of Jarosławiec. The tower is 33.3 m high, with the light at about 50.2 m above sea level. The tower is divided by cornices into four storeys.

Jarosławiec, Postomino commune; a popular holiday resort on a cliff.

History

The first, too-low lighthouse was built around 1832; a new, taller tower was commissioned on 1 July 1838, initially with Argand lamps. The structure was damaged during the Second World War and resumed operation in 1946. It was modernised in 1975 (AGA lamp) and thoroughly renovated in 1996.
