Ustka Lighthouse

A distinctive octagonal lighthouse in the port of Ustka, connected to the brick building of a former pilots' station. The tower is 19.5 m high.

Location and surroundings

Ustka, at the port entrance by the mouth of the Słupia River; near the bathing area and the promenade.

History

The predecessor of the present lighthouse was a structure from 1871 - an approximately 11-metre mast with an oil lamp. The current tower was erected in 1892. In 1904 the light characteristic was changed to white, occulting. After 1945 the object temporarily bore the name Postomino; the historic name was restored in 1947. Since 2010 the lighthouse has been unmanned.

A viewing terrace with a panorama of the port and the town; a historic body with numerous windows and canopies.
