Kikut Lighthouse

The "Kikut" lighthouse is the second (from the west) lighthouse on the Polish Baltic coast, located in the Wolin National Park on the island of Wolin, near the village of Wisełka. It is fully automated and administered by the Maritime Office in Szczecin.

History and characteristics

The project to adapt an existing tower into a lighthouse was approved in 1957 by the Maritime Construction Design Office in Gdańsk; the object was commissioned in 1962. The tower is about 15 metres high. Thanks to its location on a hill (about 75 m above sea level), the light source is at 91.5 m above sea level - it is the highest-mounted lighthouse light on the Polish coast.
