Rozewie II Lighthouse

A decommissioned, reconstructed lighthouse at Cape Rozewie, also known as the "new" lighthouse or Rozewie II. It is a physically separate structure from the still-operational Rozewie I lighthouse (located approx. 200 m away), with which it forms the characteristic ensemble of two lighthouses on the Rozewie headland.

History

The tower was erected in 1874, and the light was put into operation on 1 January 1875. In the spring of 1910 the lighthouse was taken out of service. In 2014-2015 the Society of Friends of the National Maritime Museum in Gdańsk carried out a reconstruction renovation of the structure, including the restoration of the lantern (a replica of a Fresnel-type apparatus was made). The structure was reopened to tourists (the official opening took place on 1 May 2022) as part of the museum complex.
