Gdańsk North Port Lighthouse

The youngest operational maritime lighthouse on the Polish coast, mounted on the tower of the Harbour Master's Office in Gdańsk's North Port. It is the only lighthouse in Poland equipped with a lift providing access to the top.

History and characteristics

Built in 1984 - the light was lit for the first time on 18 June 1984 at 21:23. The tower was designed by the architect Leszek Zakrzewski from the team of the General Designer of the North Port (Maritime Construction Design Office "Projmors"). The modern, blue tower with a square cross-section crowns the Harbour Master's Office building.
