Stawa Młyny is a famous windmill-shaped navigation mark located at the end of the Western Breakwater in Świnoujście. It is the official symbol of the city and one of the most recognisable structures on the Polish coast - a white cylinder with a black, conical roof and four windmill sails.
The mark was erected in 1873-1874 during the modernisation of the fairway leading to the port of Świnoujście, in order to make it easier for ever larger vessels to enter. At the beginning of the 20th century the structure was modernised: lighting was added (first gas, then electric), the tower was raised and steel sails were installed.
Together with Stawa Galeriowa it forms the entrance leading line of the port of Świnoujście - Stawa Młyny is the lower (front) light of the leading line. The structure still fulfils its original function to this day.
By decision of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship Monument Conservator of 26 March 2026, the Stawa Młyny navigation mark was entered into the register of monuments of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship.
The end of the Western Breakwater on the western bank of the Świna, accessible from the beach side in Świnoujście. The structure is viewed from the outside (not open to the interior).
