Piaśnica Museum in Wejherowo

The Piaśnica Museum in Wejherowo was established in 2015 as a branch of the Stutthof Museum in Sztutowo. It collects material relating to the German crimes at Piaśnica and to the martyrdom of the Polish nation and other nations in Kashubia and Gdańsk Pomerania in the years 1939-1945.

Location and surroundings

The museum is housed in a pre-war villa at ul. Ofiar Piaśnicy 6 in Wejherowo. It commemorates the victims of the crime committed in the nearby Piaśnica Forest.

History

In the autumn of 1939, in the Piaśnica Forest, the Germans carried out mass murders of the population of Pomerania - the so-called Pomeranian Crime. The permanent seat of the museum in Wejherowo was ceremonially opened on 11 August 2023 after renovation and adaptation works.
