Gross-Rosen Museum in Rogoźnica

The Gross-Rosen Museum operates on the grounds of the former German Nazi concentration camp KL Gross-Rosen. It is a memorial site commemorating the victims of the main camp and of its extensive network of subcamps.

Location and surroundings

The site is located in the town of Rogoźnica in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, on ul. Ofiar Gross-Rosen.

History

The KL Gross-Rosen camp was established in 1940, initially as a subcamp of Sachsenhausen at a granite quarry, and from 1941 as an independent concentration camp. Together with its subcamps it formed an extensive complex.

What to see

The grounds of the former main camp with the remains of buildings, a monument, and exhibitions dedicated to the history of the camp and its victims.

A memorial site of a martyrological and educational character.

Seasonality and hours

The exhibitions are open daily; in season (1 May - 30 September) 8:00-18:00, off season the hours are shorter. The administration, archive and workshops are open Mon-Fri 8:00-15:00.
