Museum - Palmiry Memorial Site

The Museum - Palmiry Memorial Site commemorates the victims of the mass executions carried out by the Germans between 1939 and 1943 in the Kampinos Forest. It is the only branch of the Museum of Warsaw located outside the city limits.

Location and surroundings

The site is located south of the village of Palmiry in the Czosnów municipality, in the Kampinos National Park, Masovian Voivodeship.

History

The cemetery-mausoleum holds the remains of over 1,700 people murdered by the Germans during the mass executions between 1939 and 1943. The museum was established in 1973 and has operated in a new building since 2011.
