Central Museum of Prisoners of War - National Memorial Site in Łambinowice

The Central Museum of Prisoners of War is dedicated to the history of German POW camps and the martyrdom of prisoners of war. It was established in 1964. The museum has two seats - in Łambinowice and in Opole.

Location and surroundings

The seat in Łambinowice (formerly Lamsdorf) is located in the Niemodlin Forests, on grounds connected with the POW camps that operated here. The second seat is located in the centre of Opole at 3 Minorytów Street.

History

Łambinowice (until 1945 Lamsdorf) was the site of German POW and repatriation camps. Since 2002 the area has operated as the National Memorial Site in Łambinowice.

Exhibitions devoted to prisoners of war and the grounds of the National Memorial Site with monuments and cemeteries.
