The Monument to the Insurgent Deed commemorates the participants of the Silesian Uprisings of 1919-1921. It is one of the most important places of remembrance in Upper Silesia.
The monument is located on St. Anne's Mountain (Góra Świętej Anny, Leśnica commune), on an extinct volcano, next to a former German amphitheatre, Opole Voivodeship.
The monument was designed by the eminent sculptor Xawery Dunikowski (1875-1964). In 1955 Dunikowski transformed the existing ruins into a monument commemorating the Silesian insurgents. The monument takes the form of four joined granite blocks with motifs of the Cross of Grunwald and the Insurgents' Cross.
