The Zgierz Crime - memory of the Hundred Executed

On 20 March 1942, the German occupier carried out a public execution of 100 Poles in Zgierz - it was the largest public execution of the Polish population in the so-called Warthegau (the Łódź district). The crime was a reprisal for the shooting of two Gestapo officers. The event is commemorated as the Zgierz Crime.
