Museum of Martyrdom "Pod Zegarem"

The museum is located in the cells of the former Gestapo detention facility in the building known as "Pod Zegarem" (Under the Clock), where the headquarters and investigative prison of the Lublin Gestapo were housed between 1939 and 1944. The detention facility consisted of 12 cramped cells; interrogation rooms where prisoners were tortured were located on the upper floors.

History

The museum has operated since 1979 as a branch of the National Museum in Lublin. The inscriptions left by prisoners on the walls have been preserved and the furnishings of a cell have been reconstructed.
