The monument was unveiled on 11 November 1963, on the twentieth anniversary of the liquidation of the Lublin ghetto. Initially it stood on the square by ul. Świętoduska, and since 2007 it has been located at the junction of Radziwiłłowska and Niecała streets. It commemorates the Jews of Lublin and the entire Lublin region murdered by the Germans.
