National Memorial in Łambinowice

A complex of former prisoner-of-war camps together with cemeteries and monuments in the Łambinowice municipality. The history of the place (formerly Lamsdorf) dates back to the 1860s, when a Prussian military training ground was established. During the Second World War, the camps in Lamsdorf were among the largest camp complexes in Europe - around 300,000 prisoners of almost 50 nationalities passed through them (including 200,000 Red Army soldiers).

Path of Remembrance

The site consists of several elements along the Path of Remembrance: the Old Prisoner-of-War Cemetery, the areas of the former Stalags, the Cemetery of Soviet Prisoners of War, the area of the former Labour Camp and its cemetery. Since 2002 it has had the status of a National Memorial.
