Zgoda Camp - a memorial

In Świętochłowice the gate-monument of the former Zgoda camp has been preserved. Between 1943 and 1945 a German concentration subcamp of KL Auschwitz - Eintrachthütte operated here, in which several hundred people died. After the war, from February to November 1945, the camp became one of the cruellest Stalinist camps - around 10,000 people passed through it, of whom about 2,500 died or were tortured to death.

Commemoration

On 17 June 2005 the Memorial to the Victims of Two Totalitarianisms was consecrated by the former gate. In November 2022 a model of the camp was placed in front of the gate.
