An obelisk in the shape of a Świętokrzyskie wayside shrine, dedicated to the partisans of the "Ponury"-"Nurt" Świętokrzyskie AK Groupings, was unveiled and consecrated at Wykus on 15 September 1957. In 1943 a partisan base of "Ponury's" groupings was located here; the Germans attacked the hill three times. The shrine contains an image of Our Lady of Sorrows, and around it several hundred plaques have been placed bearing the names and pseudonyms of the fallen soldiers of the "Ponury" and "Nurt" groupings.
