The monument, erected in 2004, commemorates the extermination of nearly 200,000 Jews concentrated in the longest-operating and second-largest ghetto created by the Germans. In 2004 the Radegast station was officially recognised as a monument commemorating the victims of the Łódź ghetto - the Monument to the Extermination of the Litzmannstadt Ghetto.
